Fishing for Striped Bass
Striper fishing is best, in my opinion,
from the start of the non-tidal river up to Bulls Island
wing dam. However, they are abundant in the tidal section
of the river but I don't fish there and have no knowledge
on how to catch them there. Also, they have been caught as
far upstream as the Delaware Water Gap. The month of
June is the best time for striper fishing. Using plugs
in the early morning hours and live bait during the
day will produce the best results.
My favorite spot for striper fishing
is from the Yardley boat ramp up to the Scudder Falls
dam. This area, around the I-95 overpass, is perhaps the
best spot on the river for stripers. The river here contains
areas of flats, eddies, deep holes , still water, and
turbulent waters where stripers swim.
