Thank you for your informative article. Do you reel down until you feel the fish before you set the hook? Do you try and keep your cast relatively short to help in hook setting. Please describe a typical hook set. thanks frank

I have a tackle shop(Southside Sports) on the Susquehanna. Do you sell to dealers? I stock any stonecat imitations I can find. I haven't been satisfied with any of them, although I have caught some fish on them. I'm also interested in the rigging. I have found the jewel slider head to be best with stonecat initations. The jewel sculpin actually works as well as any stonecat imitation I have found. Also, are yours scented and if so, what flavor? Ken

I agree wholeheartedly with KB...that armchair must have quite a pungent stank from years of sitting on it hating on things you don't like/stink at. In fact, I'm going tubing on the Delaware tomorrow with a big group of friends, and we're going to relax, catch some sun, and drink some delicious beers (Porkslap Pale Ale from Butternuts Brewery). And you know what? Those beers will taste extra good, because while you're complaining and party-pooping, and avoiding getting wet at all costs, I'll be spending a great day with some great people. Maybe you should consider that tubing isn't exciting because you're floating at 0.1 MPH in a big rubber donut...it's exciting for other reasons.

Especially beer.

Just read your "article" on tubing down the Delaware and I have to say you are obviously not qualified to write this article nor are you actually writing any kind of informative "article". This is an "op/ed" piece if I ever saw one. The dictionary definition of an "editorial" : "Editorials are supposed to reflect the opinion of the periodical or newspaper". If you have an "aversion to water" and "being cold and wet" - well here's an idea - don't go in the water especially in Colorado. Your piece is an unfair - completely biased opinion based on your unfortunate experiences. I feel that a better title would have been to say "Why I hate tubing in Colorado" - not "My Thoughts on tubing on the Delaware" which you have obviously never done. I am sick and tired of "arm chair reporters" (*sarcasim*) bashing things you have no 1st hand knowledge or education about. Get out of the house, go drink a beer on a tube, on a boat, by a pool or even at a bar, but just start living and stop putting out this pointless dribble you consider "journalism" when you describe it to friends or family. It's not journalism by any means, it's the musings of a grumpy old man if I ever heard one.

Is one allowed to canoe camp along the Upper Delaware River National Recreation Area if one stays within the high water mark? This the the law in many states, such as along the Connecticut River between New Hampshire and Vermont. As long as one doesn't go beyond the high water mark into private land they may canoe camp along the river bank without asking permission from adjacent land owners. But is it the law in Pennsylvania or New Jersey?

Thank you!
